Dr. Markus Braunewell

Dr. Markus Braunewell was born in in Marburg an der Lahn in 1953. He studied law in Frankfurt am Main, Geneva and Bonn. After graduation, he worked at the Max Planck Institute for European Legal History on a biography on Georg Arnold Heise within the scope of his scholarship for dissertation studies.

He started his professional career as an in-house counsel in the industry (family holding, group engineering company, sugar producer). Since 1996 he has worked as a lawyer in the area of intellectual property rights, first at a patent law firm, then in his own practice. In the years from 1998 until 2017 he furthermore lectured at the FOM University of Applied Sciences for Economy and Management, last as professor for civil law, contract drafting, and dispute resolution.

In August 2018 he merged with HEINRICH PARTNER RECHTSANWÄLTE. The focus of his work lies with trademark and competition law, portfolio management, due diligence and the evaluation of property rights, furthermore product liability and advice regarding the interface between sale and property rights. He speaks English and French. In addition, he works as an innovation trainer.
